My friend and his family returned from abroad after a long time. They planned to occupy their own house in chennai,India which they have left for lease.

After a one month of convincing they got their home vacated by the leaser, because the rent has shot up by now compared to what they quoted years ago .So the leaser could not get such good place for such a low rent(even though this was the fact the leaser was telling umpteen # of reasons for not leaving the place).

Finally ,before occupying
they inspected their home,they were shocked to see the neighbors on all the three sides have constructed windows in the common compound walls.This made it clear that their privacy was
under question.

so they planned to cover the windows.When they covered them with walls and fences,the greedy neighbors were annoyed.

The intruding neighbors tried negotiating with my friend to allow them to keep a cement jally at the least .

To which my friend calmly stated that even
though the neighbors disobeyed the law and constructed the extended intrusion.

He did not tell them to demolish it.Instead he was just covering
the opening in to his house which it self was a great help that the neighbor could get.

This way my friend handled the situation smoothly .This gave my friend the privacy and his neighbor was not hurt but also got an idea that my friend could not be cheated easily.

Every where in India these kind of unlawful encroachments and intrusions are happening but the government is not even bothered about it.

At the same time as the land value increases the ethics and values are flying away and people become greedy of land and do such unlawful acts.
